OUR LEGACY

WHO ARE WE?

The formation of the Fil-Am Association came about when members of the Filipino-American families living in the Santa Clarita Valley got together for summer picnics and potluck and Christmas dinners.

In the early 80’s, this same group decided to unite as a family social group and work together with the goal of becoming active and being recognized in the growing Santa Clarita Valley which is now named, The City of Santa Clarita.

By 1984, Fil-Am of SCV was formalized by creating a governing body and setting forth fundamental laws of the association.  For over 35 years, the Fil-Am Association has been active in local community events and has since participated and created civic, humanitarian, cultural and educational programs.

The Fil-Am Association of SCV  is now a  highly respected and  recognized organization in the City of Santa Clarita. We continue to preserve our tradition, promote our Filipino culture, and engage our youth and our community through our programs and activities with family as our core focus.
