HOW FACE PROGRAM WAS STARTED

The program was formed in 2009 under the leadership of President, Myra Miranda along with the original FACE committee, Flavy Pagador and Adrian Tan heading the Cultural and Academic Program;  Tess Carlos and Ramon Fabregas heading the Senior Program, and Nic Montebon, Jr., and Nolan Carreon, heading the Youth Program.

The 2009 Board and FACE Committee deemed it necessary to formalize these into an official program so that annually, the cultural and academic, youth and senior programs are included in the planning of events and activities.

The formation of the FACE program also allows Fil-Am to be 501(C)(3) compliant in fulfilling the objectives we set forth when we applied as a non-profit organization.  This will also allow the association to seek larger amount of donations from donors.  The donors in return, will enjoy the benefit of tax write off from their donation.

The FACE Program officially launched on June 27, 2009 which was graciouly hosted by Alma and Dennis Kua, attended by Mayor Laurene Weste, President of the Bangladesh Association Moazzem Chowdhury and La County Council Member Cecille Azarcon, the 2009 Board of Officers and Trustees, past Fil-Am of SCV Presidents and special guests.
