Message from President Tony Pascua

 

"May God continue to bless the organization, the officers, and members for all the wonderful activities/events that promote the culture and heritage of the Philippines.  As Filipinos, it is important to be proactive in rebuilding our homeland, The Philippines, from a third world country into a first class nation by sharing our love, generosity, and kindness to the less fortunate; “Less for self, more for others, enough for all".

On behalf of my wife, Marietta, and my children, thanks for joining us in celebrating Fil-Am of SCV’s.  Mabuhay!

Family Ties:

 

Marietta and I are both retired from raising seven children & from their respective careers: I was a Quality Engineer for Rockwell International/Boeing & Marietta as a Realtor & owner of the Sari-Sari Oriental Store. However, God’s work is never complete. We devote our time raising money and helping build homes for Gawad Kalinga to improve living conditions of brothers and sisters in the Philippines. Despite our busy schedules we, the dynamic duo are proudly employed as part time baby-sitters for our grandchildren. Marietta and I have touched the lives of so many people, but none of their good deeds or charitable work compares to how they have impacted our children’s lives.

Florian is married to the handsome 1999 past president Nic Montebon, Jr. and has 2 sons, Nico and Noah.  Flo has a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from CSUN, while Nic works as a Case Manager for Anthem Blue Cross.

​

Noel is married to Rosalia and also has 2 sons, Ryan and Russell.  Noel is a Radiation Therapist and Rosalia is an Assistant Manager for a Bank. J. is married to Jo-Anne.  The couple recently moved to Queens, New York.  J. received his teaching credentials from CSUN and is teaching elementary education for the NYC public school system.

Eric is married to Marlene and has 1 daughter, Emma, and 1 son Joey.  Eric is a Data Engineer for JPL in Pasadena, and Marlene works as a Quality Engineer for 3M Drug Delivery Systems Division.

​

Mae earned her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.  She was chosen as the student representative for Cal State University Dominguez Hills at the American Occupational Therapy Association Conference.  She will graduate with honors in May, 2009.

​

Meryl lives in Manhattan, New York and works as a Clinical Research Associate for a biomedical company.  She travels throughout the East Coast to various sites monitoring the progress of clinical trials.

​

Jenner, the baby of the family, graduated from CSULB and currently works as a Development Coordinator for UNICEF in New York.

​
