2004 President

Sunny graduated from Aquinas University with a B.S. in Business Administration, major in Accounting, then passed the CPA board exam in 1980. After immigrating to Hawaii in 1983, he then moved to California in 1986 and bought a house in Santa Clarita in 1988, where he worked hard to become an accomplished Accounting Manager and Real Estate Broker.  And in  2018, he officially retired this year and, now, having a good time is his job.

For him, retirement only means it is time for a new adventure and believes that the best is yet to come. He is an avid tennis player, golfer. On their free time, the Sunny enjoys traveling and, when in town, they involve themselves with OLPH lectoring, Couples for Christ, and Gawad Kalinga. He is also so proud of his daughter, Megan Roseanne, who graduated from California State University Los Angeles this year with a B.S. in Nursing, MAGNA CUM LAUDE, Class Vice President and MVP of 2018.

Another thing they love is FilAmSCV. Mabuhay everyone!

HIGHLIGHTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:

2004 was an exciting year for FilAmSCV. The Winter Ball and Installation of Officers on the 28th of February officially was the beginning of Sunny’s tenure as its 21st President, a date which coincided with his birthday.

It was a grand affair to remember and was splendidly followed by the Easter picnic, June Festival, 4th of July parade, bowling and golf tournament, Thanksgiving for Seniors, and topped off with the traditional Christmas party and caroling with enough surplus funds for the year added to the association’s ever growing fund balance. This segment of FilAm’s long life was minded with that very distinctive smile that we know well to belong to Sunny Sarte.

  • Funding of FilAmSCV scholar, Virginia Incolesio, 2004 school year expenses as a 2nd year nursing student at La Corcordia College in the Philippines.

  • Donating $1,000 to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church of Santa Clarita.

  • Scholarship awards to four local outstanding high school seniors.

  • Monetary help to tsunami victims sent through American Red Cross.

  • 3rd place trophy for City of Santa Clarita’s annual 4th of July parade
