MARIE TANG URQUIDI
President
Marie Urquidi believes that knowing your heritage and where your family comes from helps build self-esteem. With three young children learning Spanish in a dual language immersion program, she joined the Fil-Am Association of SCV to give them a sense of belonging and connection to the Philippines. Mrs. Urquidi works as a content producer and with her company DLI Parent Books, she publishes workbooks for parents that want to practice a second language with their children. As President of 2022, Marie is excited to grow the wonderful programs and create more opportunities for Fil-Am families to connect.
GAVIN ESPINOSA
Vice President
Gavin’s goal is to share his knowledge in becoming a small business owner, to educate and inspire the Fil-Am community to reach their highest potential through confidence, self defense and personal/social development.
HEIDI RIVAS
Secretary
Heidi's goal is to help small business by organizing pop up events. And she intends to help the organization to organize events to promote our Filipino culture and provide exposure to the Filipino community.
DAISY HICKS
Assistant Secretary
Daisy strongly believe that the more people work together, the more people get to be familiar with the Fil-Am Association, then more people will support each other through the tough times. Mabuhay to Fil-Am Association of SCV, Inc.,
RON VAN VOORHIS
Treasurer
Ron honorably served at the US Marine Corps. for 8 years. He is a professional Photographer and has vast experience in business marketing. Ron would like to bring new ideas for fundraisers, recruitment & community relations.
PAUL BERNARDO
Auditor
Paul Bernardo’s hope is to be able to bring the Philippine culture and traditions to his three young children who have not yet traveled to the Philippines. Moreover, he wants to instill the communal spirit (Bayanihan) that enables the Filipinos to come together to his kids.
MYRA MIRANDA
Public Relations Officer
Myra served as Fil-Am President both in 2009 and 2021 and has served several other position in the past years. As the PRO this year, Myra will continue to increase the channel of communication within and outside the Fil-Am community in Santa Clarita Valley.
PRIMA OLILA
Director
A retired Registered Nurse Care Manager & Educator for Olive View Hospital. She encourages parents to let their children participate in Fil-Am activities to bring awareness of their Filipino Culture.
RYAN RAHON
Director
Ryan joined Fil-Am to give back to the community. He wants to promote Fil-Am’s objective and get his customers, friends and families to support our programs especially the senior and the youth program.
