The Fil-Am Association of SCV is proud to announce two prestigious awards at the Santa Clarita Valley Annual July 4th Parade. These are:  Overall Best Decorated Float and 1st Place- Noncommercial Float Over 17!

These awards were a result of the tireless effort and dedication of the officers, trustees and members’  genuine love and commitment under the leadership of Fil-Am President Ronnie Tejada and Chairpersons Joe and Josie Maglalang.  Josie Maglalang’s artistic vision in executing this year’s theme “Home Is Where The Hart Is”, emphasized the impact and legacy of William Hart to our local community

The SCVTV hosts at the parade commented on the artistic rendition of the historic City of Santa Clarita mural by oil painter and  member artist, Mr. Jun Micu. Our deepest gratitude to you  for this beautiful gift that is always cherished.

A WHOLESOME TRADITION,
ANNUAL EASTER FAMILY PICNIC!

We had such an amazing time last Sunday, April 20, 2025, at our Annual Easter Family Picnic!

The most rewarding part of the day was seeing all of the kids having fun, playing games and seeing their precious smiles, it’s simply priceless! And the adults equally had a great time.  We made new friends, reconnected with previous members and strengthened the bond among our Fil-Am of SCV family and beyond.

Our Picnic Committee headed by Mike Justiniano, did an amazing job putting this Easter picnic together.  We also acknowledges the hard work of the Committee members, Board of Directors and Trustees and our volunteers.  And special thanks to host Alexis Riguerra and our Program Coordinator, Gianne Carpio who made our event a fun and exciting experience.

Thank you and we are looking forward to having you again at our Easter Family Picnic next year.

Maraming Salamat sa inyong Lahat!

LAS T YEAR'S HIGHLIGHTS

40TH ANNIVERSARY,
A CELEBRATION OF THE PAST AND THE FUTURE
OF FIL-AM OF SCV

BY: JACQUELINE FERRER-MARTINEZ, 2023 PRESIDENT & 2024 BOARD OF

DIRECTOR , FIL-AM OF SCV

40 years ago, a few ‘pioneers’ had the vision to unite Filipino Americans living in the Sta. Clarita Valley, to form a

social organization, become active in the community and be recognized as a united Filipino group. Thank you to

our pioneers, the late Adrian Gomez and Rudy Correa, Jun Gatilao, Cesar Obnial, Art Caranto, and Fred Bertulfo,

for having the vision.

On March 23, 2024, Fil-Am of SCV filled the Hyatt Hotel’s Grand Ballroom in celebration of 40 years of

philanthropy. Of course, the Honorable Mayor Cameron Smyth was on-hand to help us celebrate. Celebrating our

40th Anniversary means Fil-Am is even older than the city of Santa Clarita! This milestone was accomplished thru

the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, our Board of Directors, and Trustees. We depend solely upon our

volunteers to help our association thrive and do the necessary work.
