We are extremely proud of our JRSAA recipients this year! They are well accomplished, intelligent, motivated, and focused students ready to conquer the next phase in their lives. Covid may have slightly changed their study habits but their quest for academic excellence has not deterred them from the restriction brought upon by the devastating pandemic.
And we are equally proud of this year's Scholarship Committee led by Chairperson Verna Arguelles, for once again finding the right candidates and determining our top scholars this year.
Similar to last year's situation, the Covid 19 restrictions did not allow for our usual bigger awarding ceremony but at least this year, the scholars, their parents and our scholarship committee were able gather together and celebrate the scholars accomplishments.
The awarding ceremony was held on May 16, 2021 at the Pink Salt Grill restaurant, a popular Filipino restaurant. The ceremony was hosted by fellow scholarship member Zony Gordon, the announcement of the awardees was announced by Verna Arguelles and the prestigious award was presented by President Myra Miranda along with members Mul Tayoba and Liza Lieberman.
Among the many who submitted their application, we picked the top four well-deserving scholars. The recipients of the Jose Rizal Scholastic Achievement Awardees all received plaques and monetary reward. Joy Camia from West Ranch High School garnered fourth place and received $250.00. Kyle Dizon, also from West Ranch High School earned 3rd place and received $500. Tristan Manalang from West Ranch High School got 2nd place and received $750.00 and Joellen Bragasin from Golden Valley High School received the prestigious 1st place position, received $1000.00 reward and the rolling Wall of Honor plaque.
