The sweet smell of toasted banana leaves covering the fluffy bibingka, the steaming puto bumbong with freshly grated coconut, and the piping hot arroz caldo soup are all reminiscent of Christmas in the Philippines.
This year, Fil-am of SCV will take you back on the streets of the Philippines. After attending the midnight mass "Simbang Gabi," Filipinos are welcomed by rows of vendors selling bibingka, puto bumbong, hot tea, and arroz caldo outside the church, a portion of comfort food for Filipinos served during Christmas. There are also rows and rows of vendors selling quality and bargained Christmas items for gift giving ..... perfect time and place for Christmas shopping!
Fil-Am of SCV's "Pasko sa Nayon" (Christmas in the Village) will replicate this traditional Philippine Christmas celebration.
Yes, we will sell bibingka and puto bibingka, and we'll have gift vendors, so don't forget to bring extra cash for that bargain…
