In time of need, Fil-Am of SCV always rises up to the occasion.  For instance, during this unprecedented time of Covid-19 pandemic, Fil-Am of SCV,  supported our Seniors in need.

Globally, the need to flatten the curve of morbidity and mortality which Covid-19 exponentially placed on mankind put a lot of restriction on the mobility, most especially of our seniors, who are the most vulnerable among the members of our society. With the restrictions such as social distancing, seniors find themselves unable to get even their basic necessities. Fil-Am of SCV answered the call of our local government to provide this service.  We quickly raised funds and food donation.  The President's Circle (TPC) which initiated the project and quickly put the plan together were able to reach out to a number of our seniors in our community.

Past Presidents Rhod Resella, Tess Carlos, and Zony Gordon head the project along with Josie Maglalang who represented the Board of Officers together with current president Rey Pascua. The lead team identified the seniors who were in dire need of these necessities. They packed blankets, socks, canned goods, and toiletries in one huge bag. For every one’s peace of mind, every single item was sanitized, and every handler practiced universal safety precautions to prevent the spread of the infection. And finally, all packed goods were quarantined for over 3 days.  On April 23rd, Presidents Rey Pascua, Rhod Resella, Tess Carlos, Zeny Justiniano, Fatima Purday, Zony Gordon, and Nic Montebon, Jr. delivered the goods to our target seniors. Having accomplished this, we still donated the remaining funds to the Senior Center of the City of Santa Clarita.

Filam of SCV, Inc. continues to adhere to keep the youth and the seniors in our agenda of community service and in promoting the triad foundation of our organization.
