FIL-AM OF SCV ART CONTEST

Calling all our Artist, come and join our Art Design Contest and be recognized as one of Fil-Am of SCV's talented design artist.  So pick up your brushes and pencil and create one of the most beautiful canvas you can and proudly display your artwork.

ART DESIGN CONTEST GUIDELINES:

A.    Who can participate:

All Filipino-Americans residing in Santa Clarita Valley are welcome to join based on the 2 categories below. Members of the current Fil-Am Board of Directors & Trustees and  F.A.C.E. committee members  are exempt from joining.

B. Categories:

1.  Youth: 10- 17 years old 

      First, second, and third place awardees - to receive award plaques and art gift packages

2.  Adults: 18 years AND older

      First, second and third place awardees-to receive plaques plus $300, $200, and $100 respecitvely, in gift cards.

C.  Other information ( Submission,  Awarding, Drop-off info)

      The Art entry should be submitted with the artwork framed or gallery wrapped, if on canvas.

      Drop-off of art entry will be on Thursday Sept 29, 2022

      Between 2-6 p.m.

      At 25560 Burns Place, Stevenson Ranch CA 91381.

D.  Art Design Parameters

Art entry ( inclusive of frame ) should be a minimum of 11 x 14, and maximum of 18" x 24".

Please include a 2" x 3" white art  label with your information - name, category (youth or adult), title of artwork and medium to be pasted at the back of the artwork. Do not sign your name on the painting before judging, all info should be at the back.

E.    Theme

The theme of the Art contest is "Filipiniana, with focus on culture and tourism".

F.    Judging Criteria

Awarding for both categories will be based on:

1.  Concept and originality

2.  Interpretation of theme

3.  Composition

Art pieces may be featured on the 2022 Fil-Am calendar and the cover of the Cultural Festival program.

Awarding will be held at the Cultural Festival show on October15, 2022.

Art entries will be on display at this event.
